The Advocate reports that Governor Bobby Jindal’s chief of staff Melissa Mann was involved in an accident with the recently installed security bollards at the state capitol.
State Police Lt. J.B. Slaton says that it’s the 14th crash caused by the security bollards, yet maintains that this accident was a result of “vehicle driver error”
Judging by the pictures posted by the Advocate, airbags didn’t deploy, indicating that this was surely a low speed collision. Fortunately Mann was only a little shaken up. After the incident, state police finished writing up the accident and allowed Mann to continue about her day without any citations.
The bollards were installed in April to restrict access to card-access only parking areas.
